Am I… getting old?

“How many views does your most viral TikTok reel have?”

I get it. Content changes fast. Platforms shift. Metrics matter.
Maybe when I see that line in a bid, it’s just a sign the gig isn’t for me.

When a client asks for a specific stat, it usually means they want reassurance. That’s fair.
But it’s also a bit of one-dimensional chess.

Have I made viral TikTok ads? Not yet.
But I have taken a Victoria Beckham capsule from brief to final edits and social cutdowns in under 12 hours.
(Before you were born, she was in a group called the Spice Girls. No lie!)

I’ve built style guides, look and feel, and marketing campaigns from scratch for multiple startups.
I’ve built the marketing site and launched the IG/FB/YT campaigns for a documentary I also directed.
(Think of a documentary as a bunch of connected TikToks. Like a thread. On X.)

I cut a Dolly Parton music video that’s sitting at 3.7 million views.
But let’s be honest - Dolly did the heavy lifting there.

If your form only has a box labeled “TikTok views,” I’ll probably just move on.
When media work is scarce, it’s hard to walk away from something you could knock out in your sleep.
But them’s the brakes.

These are not the gigs you’re looking for.

As per my last email: I value capability and malleability above all.
But if you just need views, I get that.
Up here in my robes, shaking my fist at the sky.
