Or like, HOT TAKE: Here’s a thing I’m feeling so hard that I can’t sit down and work out the complexity. I’m just a saucy little brat who can’t contain my 100% totally emotional response to this super taboo subject. I'm willing to bet that a lot of you out there feel the same. Let’er rip:

I’ve been seeing a lot of “This is the lowest point of life—I am done” posts that are CLEARLY written by AI (Note the emdash).
We’re having a crisis of authenticity when we use Chat GPT to polish our public crash out. (Which, okay, if you’ve seen Justin Timberlake lately, maybe some crash-outs could use a little polish.)
Okay, so clearly this is about engagement, right?
These are hooky openers to a ‘look-at-me’ post because we all need people to look at us.
A bunch of you are selling ebooks, or pitching businesses or just seeing what sticks.
Same same.
But dude is it draining.
It’s the endgame of every large social platform I guess: This playing the algorithm and monetizing every aspect of our lives into a side-hustle.
But I’ll be honest-honest with you right now: There are times I just want to disappear from all of this - literally touch grass - and never look back. (Unpopular opinion!)
I get that we’ve somehow all got stuffed in this same crappy closet - job seekers, recruiters, business owners.
I mean we could just burn all the ATS machines, right?
We could.
You could do it.
You could say, “HOT TAKE: These ATS machines are really gumming up the hiring process at a historically devastating time for job seekers.” And then just beat them to death in a field like a printer in Office Space.
But here’s a couple real ones for you:
UNPOPULAR OPINION: AI isn’t slowing down. You’re going to have to pick a tech stack and staff up.
UNPOPULAR OPINION: This holding-your-breath to see what’s next before you hire the people that you need is leaving your company rudderless, falling behind at a crucial pivot point in history that will define the winners and losers in business.
It’s time to staff up with real humans and build a tech stack that can compete.
Because there are companies out there right now sucking up all the air in the room.
Side effect?
Fewer hot takes.
Fewer unpopular opinions.
And that’s what we all really want right?
