“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

Kind of an eyeroll, right?
But the math checks out.

I started my career as a freelancer, working in fashion and agencies in New York.
It felt punk rock—building your life one billable day at a time.
It also felt… a little lonely.
A little too cool sometimes.
And I missed a lot of opportunities because of it.
Shyness. Burnout. Waiting for someone else to notice instead of stepping forward.

Later, when I started leading teams—teams full of younger versions of me—it finally clicked.
Talent doesn’t speak for itself. Not really.
If you want the world to see how good your people are, you need a plan. You need to show them.

Maybe it depends where you’re at right now but I think nexts steps look like this:
• If you’re a mentor: Sit down with your team. Build them a plan for success.
• If you’re solo: Strap in. Let’s get to it.

It’s Monday.
Take your shot.
